On Thurs., Jan. 5, HUD released guidance and procedures for requesting grant extension funds for Service Coordinators in Multifamily Housing for the Elderly and Congregate Housing Service Program (CHSP) grantees.

12/16/2011 Congress Averts Government Shutdown, Passes Fiscal Year 2012 Appropriations Bill
The House and Senate have agreed to a $915 billion bill (H.R. 2055) that funds the nine remaining appropriations bills covering a wide range of government activities including defense, foreign aid, children’s services, public health, education and training, veterans, the environment, and homeland security.

12/02/2011 Update on the Status of FY2010 Service Coordinator Grants
AASC has recently been contacted by a number of housing organizations regarding the delay in receiving their FY 2010 Service Coordinator in Section 202 Multifamily Housing for the Elderly grant funds. According to staff at HUD headquarters in Washington, DC, HUD is in the process of revising its internal funding procedures which has held up the distribution of grant funds.
